How to Make Money From Home Blogging

When people are interested in blogging, they often get hung up on what the posts should be about. What do I write about? Do I write or use audio, or video…or all of it? Let me tell you how to make money online with blogging…and really with anything…it is about the frequency not the exact content! Especially when you are getting started, your posts should be all about frequency. Let me explain what I mean.

A blog is a web blog, an online journal. It can be your own personal thoughts, a log about the daily joys of parenting, a summary of trips you have taken. It can be anything you want it to be. There are literally thousands of blogs out there, each with its own style and voice. Blogs are written on every conceivable topic. Imagine being the one sitting home and writing the blogs that other people read, instead of sneaking a peek at blogs during your day job.

If you get in the habit of doing something to drive more traffic to your website (blog) every day, that means you’re going to make more money every day than you did the day before.  So, if you get in the habit of doing something that’s going to get more traffic to your website on a daily basis, then you’ve basically cracked the code.

The best part is that you don’t need a website, you don’t need technical skills, and there is no obligation or commitment to your work. If you want to make money, then you work. If you want some time off, then enjoy your free time. In this case you write your own paycheck.

An example of this is by creating a blog. Google owns a website called Blogger.com, which is a way for people with no technical skills to quickly start their own blog. In minutes you could have your very own site for free and publish anything you like for the world to see. Simply pick an interest of yours, write on your blog daily, and use the option to include Google AdSense ads on your site.

Blogging can be used to supplement your income, or even to replace it. Imagine staying home with your kids, working in your pajamas, and working during the hours when you are most alert, even if it’s late at night. The only person stopping you from changing your life is you. Learn how to be a blogger from The Niche Blogger and change your life starting today.

Granite 101

You may marvel at how beautiful a finished granite kitchen countertop or bath vanity can be. Finished and polished granite tiles and countertops are quite stunning. But have you ever wondered what granite is made of or where it comes from? Do you know how it gets from being a slab of rock to a shiny countertop? Here are a few facts about granite that may surprise you and add to your appreciation for this beautiful stone.

Fact #1: The minerals present in the granite dictate the color. Granite is made of crystallized minerals. There are several minerals usually present in granite, but quartz and feldspar make up the primary part of the stone. So depending on the amount of these various minerals, the color will differ. For example, the amount of feldspar in a slab of granite may cause it to be a light or dark gray or even pink.

Fact #2: Granite was formed deep underground, near the earth’s core, and over time was pushed to the surface. There are a couple of theories as to what actually happened to cause its existence. Some think granite was made when magma hardened under pressure. Others believe in the metamorphic theory, thinking that it was deeply buried rock that essentially changed over time. Whichever theory is correct, some granite found today is the oldest rock on the planet, and has been a popular building material since ancient times.

Fact #3: Granite is found in mountains. Slabs are quarried from mountain ranges in places like Norway and India and parts of Africa. It’s quite a process to remove the granite from the mountain and install it in your bathroom. The slabs are cut and re-cut, treated to create a smooth surface, and polished to enhance the natural beauty of the stone. Eventually they wind up in the shop of a granite professional to be custom-fitted for your home.

Fact #4: Just because it’s called granite doesn’t mean it is. Not everything termed “granite” is true granite from a geological perspective. Sometimes stones are grouped into the category “granite” for commercial reasons.

Fact #5: The word granite derives from the Latin granum, meaning grain. It’s an appropriate use of the word considering the coarse graining visible in granite.

Fact #6: Granite is one tough building material. You may hear a lot of talk about granite’s scratch and stain resistance, but granite is also very crush-resistant and can endure heavy loads. You may not put a lot of pressure onto your counters, but you may still find this fact reassuring. If granite can hold up a mountain it can certainly hold up under the pressures of everyday use.

These six interesting facts about granite no doubt make you appreciate even more this beautiful rock that serves as your kitchen countertop or bathroom vanity. It made a long journey - from earth’s core to mountain side to granite manufacturer to your home. That in and of itself attests to granite’s staying power!

Photography Tips for Wedding Days

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 9:08 pm

When most couples plan their wedding day they take a lot of things into consideration. They coordinate the date according to vacation times from work. Or they plan the day according to the best time for family to come into town.  Or they plan it based upon maybe available venues, like the church or the restaurant.

But one of the biggest things couples fail to plan for is the photographer.  This is no small matter.  And I am not just saying it because I am a wedding photographer

No planning the wedding day with the wedding photographer in mind could mean all the difference in the world. Especially when you realize that the photos are what are going to last a lifetime.

What are some of the factors when you start planning with the photographer in mind.  The time and the date.

First let’s start thinking about the time.  How many people want their photographer to rush through the photos? I am pretty confident most couples will not agree to that.

Without even considering your photographer, a majority of the times most couples do just that. The couple or family basically rush the photographer to try and take all the pictures.

How so you say?  Well a lot of times, the couple will schedule the ceremony for let’s say 1-2 pm. With the reception beginning at 2:30. How many shots can a photographer make when he only has a half hour to work with? Not that many.

Even worse, let’s say he does take all the shots? Do you think they are going to take good quality shots when they are rushed? No way.

So plan the wedding times and the receptions accordingly making sure there is ample time to take photos.

Second thing to consider when planning with the photographer in mind is your photographer’s availability.

Most probably don’t realize this, but most good photographers will be booked months in advance. If you do deal with a large photo company, they very well could have several photographers on staff.

Well making wedding plans without thinking about the availability of the photographer could be a nightmare.  Because if you book that special day and don’t make sure that the actual photographer will be available, when your wedding day comes you might be shocked to find someone totally different.

This scenario happens when you are dealing with a big company. You may not even realize that they have a staff of photographers and if the photographer you liked is booked, unless you ask, they might not tell you. When the wedding day comes, a second rate photographer or worse yet, they might outsource the work and somebody else will show up.

So be prepared and don’t let this happen. Planning that special wedding day can be truly wonderful. Make sure that your plan has the wedding photographer in mind as well.

Art Deco Origins and Architecture Examples

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 4:40 am

The period recognised and defined as the Art Deco period was 1925 through to 1939 . It was an art design used in buildings and interior design but also influenced things like fashion, paintings, mirrors and film.

Art Deco is primarily based on mathematical geometric shapes. Two of the most popular patterns created were the “chevron” and “sunburst motif”. These have been used to great effect in stunning Art Deco Mirrors.

One of the most asked questions is why is it called “Art Deco”. It was not called Art Deco in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The term actually came from the title of an exposition in Paris called “Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes”. Although the exhibition was in 1925 but it wasn’t until art historian Bevis Hillier published a book in 1968 called “Art Deco of the 20s and 30s” that the term became widely used.

Art Deco became unpopular in the 1940’s because it was regarded as gaudy and was linked to luxury. It has had a revival since the 1980’s. This was when graphic design was starting and art deco, because of its mathematical geometric shapes, was easy to create using computers.

Napier, which is found in the Hawke’s Bay of New Zealand, has a stunning collection of Art Deco buildings. Every year thousands of people go to Napier in February to celebrate its Art Deco heritage and history.

Napier is a port city with a population of about 58,000. It is often linked to Hastings City and thus called Napier-Hastings. Napier was named after Sir Charles Napier who was a Commander-in-Chief in India was thought of as a hero after the Battle of Meeanee in the Indian province of Sindh. There is even a suburb of Napier named Meeanee after this battle.

On 3 February 1931 Napier was hit by an earthquake that flattened the town. There were 258 people killed either by buildings collapsing by fires that broke out because of the earthquake. The town centre was then rebuilt using the Art Deco style which was popular during this period of time. Interestingly Napier became larger because of the earthquake. The earthquake raised 40km squared of land.

Although some of the buildings have now been replaced, most of the buildings remain and have become recognized as unique. From the 1990’s the buildings have been protected and restored to their former glory.

Napier is one of the best preserved Art Deco towns in the world, the only place of a similar status being Maimi Beach. In 2007 Napier was the first cultural site in New Zealand to be nominated for UNESCO World Heritage Status.

Other cities with stunning Art Deco buildings are Valencia, Havana and Rio De Janerio.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 9:04 am

It takes a fair amount of effort to get a job in the current context. Leaving out the recession, there’d still be tons of competition for jobs and the whole process takes ages. We’ve all been in that frustrating situation where we thought we’d found our ideal job, and applied for it just to end up being told later that while our qualifications were great, due to the number of qualified candidates who had applied, it wasn’t possible to employ us? What do we do about this? They would love to know that you have had prior experience in the field of your choice. This shows that you not only know how the job works, but would have potentially dealt with many situations that could cause problems in your job, and so would know how to deal with them if they crop up again.

american center for career training

Where do you get this training from? A career training center becomes invaluable here. The career training center provides classes and hands on training to anyone who meets the entry requirements. These classes ideally last less than a year, and you will receive a certificate at the end of the course saying you went through this specific and focused training. This means that a career training center, like a college provides you with the knowledge you need to succeed, but at a lower cost, where both time and money are concerned. Having followed a program at a career training center has several benefits. Firstly, they employ experts in the field to teach, and share their experience and mistakes with you, and focus on your area of choice. And the range of jobs that the career training center covers is very vast. Examples of the types of work a career training center can prepare you for are accountancy, health care and management. You will also be given the opportunity at having hands on experiences at the career training center as well.

With so much access to information, it’s not difficult to find a career training center that will suit you. Many colleges have branches that deal with career training alone, and there are also specialized schools that focus on career training alone. It is important to find one with the proper accreditation so that you know you are getting high quality training that you could proudly display in your bio data or on a wall. A career training center may be a cost, but it will definitely be an investment worth making for your career.

School Maintenance and Repair Is Every Person’s Responsibility In Our Present World

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 8:33 pm

The school is one of the most significant organizations in our world and one building that carries some of our warm memories.  It also has a vast impact in our lives, in our personalities and our views and opinions of the world.  That’s why we must make school maintenance and repair a regular activity.

We must collaborate to make the school a productive place of education and that implies the roofs are not leaking, the paint are not coming off the ceilings and walls, the drains are not clogged, the gym roof is not seeping out, the showers have warm water when you need it, and everything is running well.  To put it plainly, excellent education is directly associated with the condition of the amenities and structure.  Do you expect students to gain knowledge well when the walls seem like a mosaic and the rooms are in very bad shape?  Do you hope for students to study scientific theories and principles when the laboratories are not completely operational and may not be even safe for experimentations?  These kinds of learning environments will produce low quality education.

That’s why the government should act closely with school administrators to make school repair and maintenance a priority in legislative and budget discussions.  There must be a budget for this undertaking.  Nonetheless, it is a sad reality that many state officials and national government agencies are not so enthusiastic in making this investment into our future.  We have to hit the road now if we want to yield dependable and good citizens in the future.  And that starts by standing up to the challenges of our school system and to the quality of education we are forced to deal with.  Let us not fail to remember that the students now will be the next generation of leaders, authorities, and workers.  It is our duty to provide them excellent education today.  Moreover, it is the government’s job to ensure that there is sufficient funding for restoration and repair.  It is about time that we let ourselves be understood and make certain our kids are given the finest in education.

Not only are our schools affected by wear and tear but so are other buildings and structures in our country today.  Houses, historical buildings and other offices are also in poor shape and severely need some renovation.  Church repair and restoration is different from doing repairs for school buildings.  Churches are not just holy places but also give shelter to several of the most important pieces of art.  An illustration of such repair was the restoration of the Sistine Chapel, and you can really notice the change before and after the cleaning of the ceilings and the frescos.  It is our responsibility today to conserve the past and guarantee that the future is bright for our kids.

Tips for Buying a Telescope

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 11:41 am

The best advice is to visit your local astronomy club and learn from the experience and mistakes of others who have gone before. There is no best design, each has its strong and weak points. When you are ready to buy, avoid department stores. When getting started in any new hobby the best advice is always to start with the basics. Many of the best astronomical objects can be seen in binoculars.

The cost to the United States and the European Union was originally projected at about 500 million dollars. However, the problems of the Hubble mission have long been corrected. One reason that the cost of the Hubble is so high is that it is the only telescope ever designed to be serviced in orbit 330 miles above the Earth by astronauts. To date, there have been four servicing missions, with a fifth and final mission event planned for September 2008.

It is not the shear number of telescopes available, but that not that many places specialize in telescopes to use for viewing objects in space. If you do not have access to a specialist telescope store, then all is not lost, as online there are many specialist telescope sellers, dedicated to the amateur astronomy, and the semi pro astronomer alike. It enables you to view the distant objects by magnifying them if you buy a telescope. There are many types of telescopes and their prices vary according to the specifications. For many people into astronomy, there first telescope indeed was a toy store purchased telescope, which retailed for $100 or less. Just remember that there is much more to the universe, than what these cheap telescopes show.

Prior to invention of the telescope, stargazers required no special apparatus but their own eyes and a clear view of sky to appreciate the splendor of the infinity. In some, it is a natural response to an inborn desire - to reach out to the stars. Star gazing as a scientific trend, dates back to the ancient philosopher, Plato. Star gazing was a major branch of observation and laid the foundation for Astronomy.

The history of astronomy is closely associated with the history of mankind. They believed that the stars and other celestial objects can predict their future. There were some practical realities in this belief. Predicting seasons correctly helped the farmers to plan their cultivation. The history of astronomy greatly owed to another thinker, Ptolemy for his geocentric theory even though it was later discovered wrong.

How to get your favorite audio book

Filed under: Uncategorized — Learning @ 4:38 am

Technology is a wonderful thing indeed. It makes life easier in almost every ramification.

Technology has cetainly made it much easier when it comes to searching for information.

The days of searching for countless hours, days or even weeks for information are history.

For example, 20 years ago if you were searching for a particular book you would have to  hysically visit the Library.

As if that isn’t manual work enough, you would then have to spend laborious hours searching
through the vast amount of books inside, all in the effort of locating the book you where after.

And would you even get the book you wanted?

More often than not you would end up with the wrong book, even with the help of a librarian.

But gone are those days.

Now it only takes a couple clicks from your computer mouse to find the information you want.

If for example you are looking for a particular audio book, you can get started from the search engines.

Just visit your favorite search engine and enter the title of the book with ‘audio book’ at the end, for example ‘Of Mice and Men audio book’.

By simply doing this you will be presented with the most relevant results for your search.

Specifically, you can get the particular audio book you are looking for by going directly to an audio book website such as Spoken Network:

www.spokennetwork.com?cam=ama0013

This online bookstore has a special search feature on the site which you can use to find
the particular audio book title you are looking for.

This search feature is used just like the way in which you would use your
favorite search engine.

The big upside with this is that you’re not searching through entire websites, you are doing a very focussed search through a database.

To get started, visit this online bookstore and enter the specific audio book
title you are searching for.  If you know the exact title or author name, put it in the search.
